Who We Are

Mixology, Washington DC's premier matchmaking service for Gays and Lesbians, was founded with the goal of bringing customized, face-to-face, completely offline matchmaking services to the Gay and Lesbian community in DC and beyond.

This goal was initially conceptualized four years ago when Kim Rosenberg, now President of Mixology DC, and Meghann Novinskie, now Executive Director of Mixology US, reconnected at an international matchmaking conference. At that time, both Kim and Meghann were providing personalized matchmaking services through their respective employers in DC and San Francisco. In fact, together, Kim and Meghann have over nine years of experience in the dating industry, have a client base that spans from Washington DC to San Francisco, and are responsible for countless lasting relationships nationwide.

At this conference, Kim and Meghann acknowledged two somewhat conflicting facts: the success of in-person matchmaking services over the online dating services is uncontestable, and there is a conspicuous absence of such services in the Gay and Lesbian community.

The seed was planted then and after three years of research, skill refinement, business planning, and finance securing, the idea to bring personalized dating services to the Gay and Lesbian community became a reality.

In late 2009, Kim and her business partners launched Mixology's flagship office in Washington DC. Kim's driving desire to make a positive difference in her clients' lives, coupled with her keen ability to listen and understand each client's specific needs, makes Kim the perfect steward of Mixology's membership. Having grown-up in the DC Metropolitan Area and worked as a matchmaker here in DC, Kim is uniquely posed to understand the nuances of DC's dating scene for Gays and Lesbians.

Shortly after taking the helm at Mixology, Kim approached Meghann, an award winning matchmaker with dozens of marriages to her credit, and requested that Meghann bring to Mixology her passion and commitment to clients' happiness. In February 2010, Meghann accepted and became Executive Director of Mixology US. In this position, Meghann works as, among other things, the Lead Dating Consultant to Mixology's members in the DC area and beyond. Meghann thrives on the challenges presented by the unique tastes and preferences of each member within our diverse client base. That passion, combined with Meghann's intuitive nature and pursuit of success, drives Meghann to customize her personal coaching to help each client navigate the general ups and downs of dating life.

Kim and Meghann both have degrees in psychology from UNC Greensboro and American University, respectively. Kim lives in Washington DC and Meghann resides in both San Francisco and Washington DC.
